This policy explains how we collect, use, disclose and safeguard personal information you provide when requesting a quote, engaging us for a valuation or otherwise interacting with our services.
Information we collect
We collect personal information that is reasonably necessary to provide our valuation services. This typically includes your name, email address, phone number, the property address being valued, the nature of the CGT event, and any supporting documents you choose to share (purchase contracts, council rates, prior valuations, photographs).
How we use your information
We use your information solely to prepare your valuation report, communicate with you about the engagement, issue invoices, and meet our professional and legal obligations as Certified Practising Valuers. We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information.
Disclosure
We may disclose limited information to third parties only where necessary to deliver the service — for example, to your nominated accountant or solicitor, an SMSF auditor reviewing the valuation, or to the Australian Taxation Office where required by law. Where you instruct us to send the report directly to a third party, you consent to that disclosure.
Data security and retention
We store your information on secure systems within Australia. Valuation files are retained for a minimum of seven years to meet professional indemnity insurance, ATO record-keeping and API Professional Practice Standards requirements.
Your rights
You may request access to, or correction of, the personal information we hold about you at any time by emailing hello@cgtvaluations.com.au. You may also lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) if you believe we have breached the APPs.

Our website uses minimal cookies for basic site functionality and anonymised analytics. We do not use cookies to identify individual users or for advertising purposes.
